New Improv Record by C. Spencer Yeh, Nate Wooley, Colin Stetson, and Ryan Sawyer Recorded

Some of you New Yorkers may have had the extraordinary privilege to see the first collaborative quartet performance by C. Spencer Yeh, Nate Wooley, Colin Stetson, and Ryan Sawyer at Union Pool in Brooklyn last year.  According to Yeh, Colin Stetson was enthused and determined that the four players should continue this as a steady project.  This month, the quartet reunited for two sets at The Stone in Manhattan, just one day after they met in the studio to record an improvised LP, with an expanded and richer concept of the original performance’s ideas.  The release date of the record is yet to be announced.

You can also plan to catch the quartet again on June 9, once again at Union Pool.  Check out the video above of their first performance last year.
