Pauline Oliveros Wins 2012 John Cage Award

Accordionist and composer Pauline Oliveros, who played a central role in post-war electronic art music, has just been awarded the annual $50,000 John Cage Award for “outstanding achievement in the arts for work that reflects the spirit of John Cage.”  The award is issued by The Foundation for Contemporary Arts and is part of FCA’s Grants To Artists program, who honored other artists with grants this year, such as DJ Rupture and Rhodri Davies.
